The Bitcoin Forum, originally set up by Martti Malmi at bitcoin.org/smf using Simple Machines Forum (SMF) software, migrated to the independent domain bitcointalk.org in August 2011. The migration was managed by forum administrator Theymos (Michael Marquardt) and preserved all existing posts, threads, and user accounts.
After the London High Court ordered bitcoin.org to remove the Bitcoin whitepaper, Cobra responded on Twitter with a scathing critique of the legal system and a declaration that cryptographic rules are superior to court-enforced rules.
